It’s been a long time — almost a year. Where did I go, asked Browne, of The Bus Bench blog recently. Well, I’m still around, riding my bike, being car-free. I just haven’t been blogging. To be honest, I didn’t know if I had enough to offer, week in and week out. I don’t feel like an expert on this stuff. I’m not a scientist, not a scholar on sustainable living. I’m just a car-free lady. After a while, commuting without a car is — well, it’s not all that special. I get on my bike. I ride to work. I come home again. End of story.
But I’ll try again. I’ll see how it goes. And in the meantime, I’d like to add another element to the blog, inspired by the past year’s economic events. I’d like to talk about simple living.
Simple living (living simply, without buying lots of stuff) seems to have come into vogue long before the economic crisis, before the boom of the ’90s. I started reading about simple living back then, when I was a starving student. I wanted to consume less, and this, along with other factors, inspired me to go car-free in 2008. So I’d like to add a few posts on living more simply to the blog. I hope that’s all right with you?
